Just a regular guy.

My Backtory…

A bit about me and how I got started writing books… It’s kind of a funny story. I’ve always loved world building—coming up with creative and original realms, cultures, species, and characters. Ever since I was a kid, I loved to create and exercise my imagination.

Unlike most of my peers who left their imaginary worlds behind upon reaching middle school, I held on to mine and continued to build upon it, adding things and refining them.

When I got to high school, I had amassed this enormous fictional universe with its own sciences and history. One day, when there was some down time in one of my classes, I was telling a substitute teacher about one of my stories—this was before I had actually written anything down. He noticed that I was struggling to remember a few of the details and suggested that I write everything down. He even let me do that instead of the work I was supposed to be doing! And so my journey into the world of writing began…

By the end of high school, I had three short stories written, which would serve as the basis for To the Power of 10 books 1 and 2. These initial documents were more like brief summaries, totaling about 20 pages each.

Before starting on the third installment, I decided to go back and rewrite the first and second story from the ground up. This decision was made because my writing had improved so much by that time that it would be more work to revise what I had already written than it would be to just start over and build everything back up again. In doing so, I was able to reexamine a lot of the events and logic, making changes where I needed to without creating a domino effect.

Fast forward about a decade, and I finally self-published my first novel, To the Power of 10: Journey of a Lost Soul on September 12, 2019. This was a huge step for me, and it was amazing to see my work finally come to fruition after all the years of keeping things on the down-low.

What’s next?

Well, I plan to keep on writing and publishing. Writing is my passion, and it’s been a long journey for me. I love what I do, and hope to continue doing it for as long as I can.

There’s always room for improvement, and my desire is to continue expanding upon my fictional worlds, as well as building new ones.
